Luxury Cars, Motorcycles, SUV's to Highlight PA State Vehicle Auction to be Held on April 21
Nearly 400 units can be previewed by the public from Friday, April 17 through Monday, April 20
HARRISBURG, Pa., April 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An offering of nearly 400 vehicles – featuring luxury cars, motorcycles and SUV's – will be up for public bid during the commonwealth's second vehicle auction of the year on Tuesday, April 21 at 10 a.m. the state Department of General Services announced today.
All vehicles can be previewed by the public at Manheim Keystone Pennsylvania, 488 Firehouse Road in Grantville, Dauphin County from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Friday, April 17 through Monday, April 20. The auction will be held at the same location.
"I encourage any member of the public who is in the market for a new vehicle come out and experience what a state auction is all about," DGS Acting Secretary Curt Topper said. "Our auctions always boast a variety of quality used vehicles for a fair price."
Highlights of this auction include a 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550V; 2003 Mercedes-Benz S500; 2004 Acura MDX; 2003 Cadillac Escalade; 2006 Infiniti M35; a variety of motorcycles; Chevy Tahoes, Suburbans and Blazers; Ford Explorers, Escapes and Expeditions; Jeeps and a variety of sedans, pick-up trucks and utility vehicles.
All of the vehicles have either been seized by state law enforcement agencies or are vehicles no longer used by state government agencies and are no longer used by commonwealth.
"The benefits of state vehicle auctions are two-fold," Topper noted. "The public gets can purchase a good used car and the commonwealth gets a return on its investment as part of our overall efforts to properly manage our fleet."
All revenue generated from the sale of these vehicles is returned to the commonwealth. The February 2015 auction netted nearly $1,150,000 from the sale of 322 vehicles.
The auction will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at noon. Buyers may purchase with cash or certified funds in the form of money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks or bank checks – all made payable to "Manheim Central Penn Auto Auction."
This is the second vehicle auction of six total slated for 2015.
