They join Richard Heimler, a ten year lung cancer survivor, appointed to LCA's Board in June 2014.
"We are honored to add these four new exceptional Board members to our team this year," said the Honorable Michael G. Oxley, LCA Chairman of the Board. "Their extensive experiences and diverse backgrounds will bring added strength and vision as we prepare to launch our next decade of groundbreaking work on behalf of those living with or at risk for lung cancer."
As a respected, award-winning journalist with over 20 years of experience covering news in Washington, DC, Jim Angle brings a wealth of knowledge to LCA regarding the media. His varied experiences will help make sure lung cancer issues are addressed and discussed in mainstream media.
"The public should know much more than it does about this disease and who it strikes, including service members and those who never smoked a single cigarette. Lung Cancer Alliance is the best of the charities in this field and I am honored to join their efforts," said Angle.
Allen Shapard has an extensive branding, marketing and communications background. He is now a Senior Vice President at IMG Worldwide, the global media, sports, entertainment and licensing enterprise. His wide breadth and international view will help elevate LCA to a national and international brand.
"Lung Cancer Alliance is one of the most impressive organizations I have encountered and I am honored to help make a difference in people's lives," said Shapard.
Major General Richard Sherlock brings both military and private sector leadership to the Board. His expertise in strategic planning and operations will help shape the vision and allow the organization to be on the cutting edge to help our community.
