Luis D. Ortiz Joins Douglas Elliman

NEW YORK, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Douglas Elliman has announced that Luis D. Ortiz has joined the firm. With a background in film directing, Ortiz has sold over $75 million in residential real estate over the past three years. He co-stars in the Bravo reality television series Million Dollar Listing New York, along with Elliman agent Fredrik Eklund and NestSeeker's Ryan Serhant. The series has been renewed for its third season.

Ortiz prides himself on his extensive knowledge of the real estate market and the time he takes to fully understand every client's needs. His deals include a $12.5 million duplex at the Apthorp on Manhattan's Upper West Side, a $6.1 million deal at 165 Charles Street and a $7.4 million Downing Street townhouse with a garage.

Born in Puerto Rico, Ortiz moved to New York and attended the New York Film Academy. He later entered real estate where he began in rentals, working for David Yomtobian and Blackstone Properties, moved to Prodigy Network , and then to Synergy New York with Elie Pariente. Prior to joining Elliman, he was most recently at Keller Williams NYC.

Recognized as a top broker, Ortiz was chosen to appear in season 2 of the real estate-themed Bravo Show, Million Dollar Listing New York. Along with Eklund and Serhant, the three showcase and sell some of New York City's greatest properties.
