WASHINGTON, March 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Halo Privacy, Inc. of Seattle, Chicago and Washington DC is pleased to announce the appointment of LTG Michael T, Flynn (USA-Ret) to the company's Board of Directors. Before his recent retirement from the U.S. Army, LTG Flynn served as the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance, and Chairman of the Military Intelligence Board. Prior to this LTG Flynn served as Assistant Director of National Intelligence. LTG Flynn spent much of his distinguished military career deployed with combat units around the world. Most notably, LTG Flynn served as the senior intelligence officer for the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) in Iraq and J-2 (Intelligence Director) for the NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. In both assignments, LTG Flynn was credited with creating innovative techniques for operations-intelligence fusion, leading to major breakthroughs in counterterrorism operations against the Taliban, Al-Qaida and their associated movements.
LTG Flynn has authored scholarly and topical articles in numerous publications, including Small Wars Journal, Military Review, Joint Forces Quarterly, and Center for a New American Security. He appears regularly on U.S. and international television as a defense affairs commentator and lectures to a broad range of government, industry and private audiences on international affairs, national defense and cyber-security. LTG Flynn's book, The Field of Fight: How We Can Win the Global War Against Radical Islam and Its Allies will be released in July on St. Martins Press.
L. Kevin Kelly, Halo Privacy CEO, said, "We are thrilled to have Mike Flynn on our board. His long Army career and special expertise in intelligence, counter-terrorism and cyber-security make him an ideal spokesman for Halo's capabilities. Having Mike on our board is the strongest possible signal to the marketplace of Halo's commitment to support Federal sector secure communications requirements and to making that same elite grade secure communications product and tradecraft available to the commercial sector."
LTG Flynn added, "During my career in the Army I saw the consequences of having porous or easily compromised communications. Its essential, especially these days, to not just be able to communicate securely on trusted networks but also abroad where networks are non-permissive or even hostile and Americans are particularly under the lens. I think Halo is addressing these issues in a way that is more practical and applicable than the other stuff on the market. Their solution also addresses one of the most concerning attack vectors: insider threats coming from compromised system admins. I'm really glad be joining the board and am confident Halo is showing up just in time to meet the pent up demand for private, secure comms."
