LPS Supports Deployed Service Members and Families in Need with $50,000 Donation
Contributions Benefit Operation Homefront and Spare Key Organizations
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its Commitment to Caring program, Lender Processing Services, Inc. (NYSE: LPS) is pleased to announce it has donated $50,000 to benefit Operation Homefront and Spare Key, nonprofit organizations dedicated to providing financial relief to families of deployed service members and families of critically ill or injured children, respectively.
"LPS is deeply committed to supporting charitable organizations that deliver much- needed services to individuals, families and communities," said LPS President and CEO Hugh Harris. "It is our privilege to provide funding to help ease the financial burden for families of deployed military who have sacrificed so much, and for families who are dealing with the heartbreak of a sick or hurt child."
Operation Homefront provides direct service to alleviate military families' financial burdens, such as making payments towards mortgages, utilities, food and medical bills. Spare Key, which received half of the donation, supports homeowners with critically ill or seriously injured children by making a mortgage payment on the family's behalf, allowing the parents to spend more time with their child.
"The generous donation from LPS will help us continue to assist military families in crisis," said Operation Homefront Chief Operating Officer Amy Palmer. "Whether they need emergency food, home repairs, critical items for babies, financial assistance for rent, mortgage payments or other important necessities, this funding helps make it possible for us to assist these deserving families."
LPS has already kicked off its 2012 "Commitment to Caring" campaign to support a wide variety of nonprofit organizations across the country with financial donations, and many of the company's employees will volunteer throughout the year to help raise money or otherwise assist charitable organizations.
"We are grateful for our dedicated employees' willingness to provide their time, talent and funds to the community," Harris added. "This donation marks the completion of our 2011 Commitment to Caring program, which included more than $750,000 in donations from the company and its employees. By combining corporate donations with their generosity, we can support those in need."
The company publishes its Commitment to Caring Annual Report detailing its charitable and community involvement initiatives each year. The 2011 Annual Report can be found here.
