Lookout is 'FedRAMP Ready'
Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security is the only mobile security solution recognized as FedRAMP Ready
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Lookout, the global leader in securing mobility, has been recognized as the first mobile security solution to achieve "FedRAMP Ready" status. Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security has demonstrated the ability to meet the rigid technical requirements as mandated by FedRAMP in order to serve federal agencies for secure cloud adoption. As a result, Lookout is now listed on the FedRAMP marketplace for federal agencies and government contractors.
With goals of accelerating the adoption of and increasing confidence in secure cloud solutions, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, or FedRAMP, is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. Earning the newly established FedRAMP Ready status puts Lookout on an accelerated path to obtaining an authorization to operate (ATO). FedRAMP Ready testing was conducted by EmeSec and completed at year end 2016.
"As the first mobile security solution to achieve FedRAMP recognition, Lookout is poised to help government agencies embrace the productivity gains of cloud and mobility, with visibility into and control over the security risks these technologies introduce," said Bob Stevens, vice president of Public Sector at Lookout. "People predominantly access cloud services via their smartphones or tablets so any secure cloud program must ensure that the device is safe from app-, network- and operating system-based threats. Lookout offers government agencies this peace of mind."
Lookout's heritage in mobile and global footprint has given it access to virtually all the mobile code in the world. With a dataset of more than 40 million mobile apps, and up to 90,000 added daily, the Lookout Security Cloud conducts complex correlations and predicts future risk, identifying threats that would otherwise evade legacy systems and go unseen. Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security leverages this dataset to secure mobility by providing comprehensive risk management across iOS and Android devices, protecting against app, network, and device-based threats, while providing visibility and control over data leakage.
