Longest Running Community Seder in Los Angeles Returns For Its 98th Year at The Los Angeles Jewish Home
RESEDA, Calif., March 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Los Angeles Jewish Home will once again open its doors to the people of Los Angeles this Passover when it hosts the city's longest running and largest community Seder on March 30. The Jewish Home was founded at Passover in 1912 to give five Jewish men a place to celebrate the holiday, and this marks the 98th consecutive year the Jewish Home has been sponsoring this event.
"It's an invitation to a unique Seder experience that gives everyone a chance to enjoy this wonderful holiday and participate in a tradition of caring," said Molly Forrest, CEO-President of the Los Angeles Jewish Home. "Family, friends and supporters will gather on our Eisenberg Village campus in Reseda to share this special occasion with the residents of the Jewish Home for an unforgettable evening."
Passover is the eight-day observance commemorating the freedom and exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The Seder, the focal point of the Passover celebration, is a time of family gatherings and meals, featuring special foods, songs and customs.
"Each Passover we ask the traditional question of 'why is this night different from all other nights,'" said Rabbi Rita Hertzberg of the Jewish Home's Eisenberg Village. "Join us at the Jewish Home and see why this Seder is different from all others you may have attended in the past."
The Jewish Home's community celebration is being held on March 30, the second night of Passover, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Eisenberg Village is located at 18855 Victory Boulevard in Reseda. Tickets are $40 per adult ($30 per adult family member of a Jewish Home resident) and $15 per child under 12. Advance purchase is required, and tickets will be sold until March 24. Reservations and more information are available at 818-774-3386.
