Litigator Steve Corso Joins Haynes and Boone Houston, Bolstering Government Investigations and Litigation Practices
HOUSTON, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Corso, a former assistant U.S. attorney who has also served as a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement attorney, has moved to the Houston office of Haynes and Boone, LLP as part of a strategic effort to reinforce the firm's government investigations and litigation practices.
Corso's practice will focus on SEC defense, internal investigations and white collar criminal matters. He will be working to solidify and grow the government investigations practice in Houston and across the country in areas including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and public company accounting and disclosure concerns.
Dallas Partner Kit Addleman, the litigation section leader supervising government enforcement and litigation matters, said no other attorney in Houston – and relatively few in the country -- has a background working at both the U.S. attorney's office and the SEC.
"Steve's unique experience within both the Justice Department and the SEC has given him breadth and depth in the kinds of complex white-collar matters we are seeing with our current clients and across public companies generally," Addleman said. "His insight and perspective after 11 years at the Houston U.S. attorney's office and more than three years as a staff attorney in the SEC's Division of Enforcement in Atlanta will be vital to serving clients at a very high level."
Corso received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1991 and his J.D. from University of Georgia Law School in 1995. He was a member of the 2012 Class of the Department of Justice's Leadership Excellence and Achievement Program. In October 2011, Corso received the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, Gaston L. Gianni, Jr. Better Government Award for outstanding effort investigating and prosecuting a matter involving procurement fraud in connection with procuring food for American military personnel in Iraq and Kuwait.
