LikeList Names Jill Finlayson Vice President, Marketing, Acquisition and Retention
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- LikeList [http://www.likelist.com], an online word-of-mouth service for sharing and discovering trusted local businesses, has named industry veteran Jill Finlayson as vice president, marketing, acquisition and retention. In this role, Finlayson will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy to attract, acquire and retain consumers and business users and accelerate LikeList's traction in the local marketplace.
"Our team has worked very hard to build an online platform that makes it easy for people to share and discover trusted local businesses and for local businesses to market themselves directly to customers," said Jim Delli Santi, co-founder and CEO of LikeList. "Jill's proven track record working with and engaging local audiences, as well as her level of professional marketing know-how, make her an extremely strong addition to our team as we extend our marketing efforts towards both audiences."
During her more than 15-year career, Finlayson has managed all aspects of marketing, public relations, social media and community building to create successful consumer outreach strategies and campaigns. She has worked with brands such as eBay, The Learning Company, LiveDeal Inc., and Social Edge, a program of The Skoll Foundation, a social entrepreneurship organization.
Finlayson demonstrated her ability to successfully grow a business and connect with a broad consumer audience during her time at eBay. As the senior category manager at eBay, Finlayson was responsible for the Toys category business unit, and her oversight and execution of marketing programs, product enhancements and training programs grew that category into a half billion dollar business by the end of 2001. Finlayson has also co-authored two McGraw Hill books, Fundraising on eBay and How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo and Google. Additionally, she developed curricula for the Small eBusiness World Expo and eCommerce Boot Camp to help small businesses expand their online sales channel and scale their business.
Most recently, Finlayson oversaw community engagement and social media programs for Social Edge, a program of the Skoll Foundation dedicated to helping social entrepreneurs scale their ventures. Her work led to a significant increase in global awareness and contributed to the growth of the field.
"I'm honored to join the accomplished team of professionals at LikeList in striving to positively change the way local businesses and consumers interact with each other," said Finlayson. "I look forward to putting my industry knowledge and marketing expertise to work helping consumers and small businesses take advantage of the tremendous value LikeList offers, and to propel LikeList into the next phase of its growth."
