Life App Shows How to Respond to Women in Crisis Pregnancies
Initiative of Fellowship of Catholic University Students and Sisters of Life
DENVER, Jan. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- More than a million babies are aborted each year in the United States. Over half of all crisis pregnancies occur with college-aged women. FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, partnered with the Sisters of Life on the Life App as part of FOCUS' Love Life initiative to save both mothers and their unborn children.
The Sisters of Life, a community of religious sisters devoted to the protection and sacredness of every human life, were a natural choice for this unique partnership. Launched at FOCUS' recent SEEK2015 conference, the Life App shows people how to respond with compassion and hope when encountering a woman in a crisis pregnancy, giving her the strength to make the best choice for her and her baby.
"The Sisters of Life have helped thousands of women recognize they have incredible dignity as unique and unrepeatable gifts of God," said John Zimmer, VP of Training and Formation and FOCUS champion of the Love Life initiative. "This app allows anyone in the world to learn from their wisdom. It is like having a Sister of Life at your side as you respond in love to a women dealing with the difficulty of being pregnant and feeling completely alone."
The LIFE App has four main tabs to respond to women in need:
- How to Respond uses videos show the importance of empathy and love when talking with women in these crucial situations
- Her Perspective suggests responses to common fears women have and special topics
- Help Centers quickly finds local crisis pregnancy centers to get women the professional help they need
- About has information on FOCUS, Sisters of Life, and how to support the Love Life initiative
