Liberty Central Launches Free Training Website to Activate the Congressional August Recess
WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today Liberty Central, in partnership with The Leadership Institute, launched an activism how-to website, www.LibertyCentralTraining.org, to help citizens prepare to hold members of Congress accountable for their actions in Washington when they return home for summer recess.
"Liberty Central has declared that August is 'Accountability Month,' so we hope the resources available at LibertyCentralTraining.org will encourage, educate and empower everyday Americans to meet, question and generate a dialogue with their representatives," said Sarah Field, Director of Policy and General Counsel of Liberty Central. "If constituents don't like what's happening in Washington, there are tips for organizing petition drives, building coalitions, even running for office."
At LibertyCentralTraining.org, visitors can choose from the following five courses to view a variety of free instruction videos featuring lectures by scholars, campaigners and grassroots leaders:
- Founding Principles: The Principles We Need to Preserve
- Action & Accountability: Making Your Legislator Do the Right Thing
- Winning Campaigns: Your Candidate, Your Cause, Our Victory
- Speak Up: Creative Ways to Get Your Voice Heard
- Money Matters: Marking a Difference with Your Wallet
"Thanks to the help from The Leadership Institute, the launch of LibertyCentralTraining.org is another step toward fulfilling our mission of being a virtual public square where citizens unite and activate for the preservation of limited constitutional government, personal responsibility, individual liberty, free enterprise, and strong national security," Field added.
LibertyCentralTraining.org is the latest component of Liberty Central's "Accountability Month" effort. Liberty Central recently released their 2009-2010 Legislative Scorecards that grade every senator and House member by their votes and involvement on 14 key issues, including health care reform and the stimulus bill. To access the scorecards, visit www.LibertyCentral.org/election-2010.
