LG Presents '20 Magic Minutes...A Family Celebration' To Launch New Mega-Capacity Turbowash™ Washer
Day of Fun Activities Celebrates Quality Time with Family while Supporting Christina Applegate's Right Action for Women
LOS ANGELES, June 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Electronics and award-winning actress Christina Applegate team up to host "20 Magic Minutes…A Family Celebration,"— an afternoon filled with games and activities on Saturday, June 23 at a private Beverly Hills residence. At this event, whose proceeds benefit Christina Applegate's charitable initiative Right Action for Women, LG will debut the new LG Mega-Capacity TurboWash™ Front-Load Washer, which features new time-saving technology.
Enjoying LG's "20 Magic Minutes…A Family Celebration," VIP guests – including celebrity moms, dads, kids, and Hollywood insiders – will experience the time-saving benefits of the new LG TurboWash™ washer, featuring the largest capacity in the industry.[1] The afternoon's festivities will feature fun, family-focused activities such as spin art, pizza- and cupcake-making, manicures and more—each of which family members can enjoy in 20 minutes, the same amount of time LG TurboWash™ saves moms per load of laundry.[2]
With the eight-plus hours women currently spend on laundry per week, a 20-minute time savings per load is an opportunity to get back to the things that matter, such as spending time with family, something Applegate highly values.
Throughout the day, celebrities will be invited to autograph sets of the LG TurboWash™ washing machine, which will be auctioned to benefit Right Action for Women (RAW). Right Action for Women was established by Applegate in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. In 2008, after receiving her breast cancer diagnosis, Applegate created the foundation to educate young women about what it means to be at "increased risk" for breast cancer and to encourage them to talk to their healthcare professional about appropriate screening. Right Action for Women provides assistance to individuals determined to be at increased risk for breast cancer with proper screening.
"I am so grateful to LG for their generous support of Right Action for Women," said Applegate. "This is a wonderful event to illustrate the importance of spending time with family and friends."
"Though it's difficult for busy families to fit everything into their daily schedule, it's important to carve out time for what we really value," said James Fishler, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA. "Christina's organization is an excellent example of making time for what is most important to you, and we're proud to support this worthy cause during the launch of our new, time-saving washer. LG strives to create technology and products that make life better – and less time on chores means more time with the family, which means life's good."
The LG TurboWash™ washer, a recipient of the 2012 ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient designation, can wash more clothes in fewer loads—saving time and money. At 5.1 cubic feet, the industry's largest capacity washer[3] means that an entire set of king-sized bedding, including comforter, can be effectively cleaned at once. The product's innovative technology saves 20 minutes per load[4]—even with larger loads of laundry—while still offering outstanding cleaning performance. The new machine also features steam technology, which gently but powerfully penetrates fabrics to virtually eliminate dirt, odors and wrinkles.
The LG Mega-Capacity TurboWash™ Washer is available now at stores nationwide, at manufacturer's suggested prices of $1,399 (White) and $1,499 (Graphite).
