LG Electronics Introduces Most Energy-Efficient Front Load Washer
Combines Warm Water Performance with Cold Water Savings From 6Motion(TM) and ColdWash(TM) Technologies
NEW YORK, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Incorporating exclusive new cold-water features that deliver the same performance as washing clothes in warm water, LG Electronics' new flagship laundry system is the most energy-efficient front-loader on the market. New performance-enhancing and energy saving features, such as 6Motion™ and ColdWash™ technologies, together with existing features, such as the industry exclusive Allergiene™ cycle, help consumers take better care of their families and homes.
"Smart laundry technology from LG offers consumers something better. We began with our innovative steam technology and Allergiene Cycle and have now taken it one step further by introducing 6Motion and ColdWash technologies," said Peter Reiner, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA. "These latest innovations provide consumers with the cleaning performance many thought was only possible with warm water wash, coupled with energy savings of cold water."
Whereas most washers only have one motion – tumbling – LG's innovative 6Motion technology allows the drum to tailor each load with a combination of motions including rolling, stepping, swinging, scrubbing, filtration and tumbling. Depending on the cycle the consumer chooses, these motions range from extremely gentle for delicates to a more powerful cleaning for soiled items, making it simple to take better care of clothing. This breakthrough technology is made possible by the precision mechanics created by LG's Direct Drive motor, which operates without belts or pulleys, delivering power directly from the motor to the drum. This system results in increased efficiency, reduced noise and vibration, and a longer lifetime, supported by a 10-year limited warranty on the motor – the longest in the industry.
6Motion technology, working in conjunction with ColdWash, which uses cold water to penetrate deep into fabrics, provides consumers with the same washing performance as washing in warm water, while using up to 51 percent less energy. Like all LG laundry systems, the new models are Energy-Star rated and use up to 40 percent less water than conventional top-load machines.
In addition to the new technology introductions, the new front-load laundry pairs also incorporate the unique, high-performance features consumers have come to expect from LG's TrueSteam™ technology. This includes LG's exclusive Allergiene cycle, which removes 95 percent of common allergens such as dust mites and pet dander, from even the most delicate fabrics and is certified asthma & allergy friendly™ by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), the leading non-profit foundation dedicated to helping consumers and patients with asthma and allergic diseases.
With an ultra large 4.8 cubic-foot capacity (IEC), the LG SteamWasher™ allows consumers to wash more clothes in fewer loads. The TrueBalance™ system helps to offset unbalanced loads in the washer drum and is designed to minimize overall washer vibration – even in unbalanced loads – allowing for a quieter operation, making LG laundry pairs ideal for placement anywhere in the home, including the second floor.
Models are available in White, Graphite Steel and new Chardonnay finishes at manufacturer's suggested retail prices ranging from $1,399 to $1,799 for the washer (Model WM3875H, WM3885H) and $1,299 to $1,669 for the dryer (Model DLEX3875, DLGX3876, DLEX3885, DLGX3886). LG's top of the line model WM3885H features an upfront intelligent touch control panel with color LCD Display and Dial-A-Cycle™, which provides instructions and diagnostics while displaying the cycle status.* The products will be available at retail in early in the second quarter of 2010.
