Book Signing by Acclaimed Actress Annie Potts, the Latest Show of Support Following in Footsteps of The Bello Family Foundation's Generous $5,000 Donation to the Centre
ANGUILLA, British West Indies, Feb. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Star of stage and screen, Actress Annie Potts, recently delivered a reading of her new children's book, "Kemarley of Anguilla" at the Straw Hat Restaurant in Mead's Bay. The book, written and designed by Potts, tells the story of a young boy who admires the beauty of his island through a very special lens. Sales of each copy of the book and greeting cards benefits the Blossom Centre and the special-needs children of Anguilla.
The Blossom Centre was founded in 2010 by the Arijah Harrigan Foundation, established in Anguilla to offer help, hope and the promise of a bright future for their daughter and numerous other special-needs children. The book signing represents the latest display of generosity shown to the organization. Entrepreneur Manny Bello, founder of The Bello Family Foundation, recently donated $5,000 to the Centre in which, a check presentation was made amidst the star-studded excitement and fanfare of the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony recently held in Anguilla. The heartfelt and generous donation was presented center stage by award-winning actress, Vivica Fox, currently starring in NBC's wildly popular show Celebrity Apprentice.
Annie Potts's donated proceeds, along with The Bello Family Foundation's contribution, have greatly assisted the Centre in its mission to deliver to special-needs children- the core values of excellence, positive growth, as well as mental and physical wellness. The owner of the Centre, Renuka Harrigan, was moved by the overwhelming encouragement and support. Today, the Blossom Centre continues to offer daily educational and therapeutic programs and services for the children.
