Lebara Mobile KSA is a Saudi company supported by an alliance of major Saudi investors and Lebara Group. The launch comes after one of only two licences was granted by the industry regulator earlier this year, and signals a new phase in Lebara's ongoing expansion strategy.
The new MVNO service has been delivered using Lebara's expertise in building partnerships with established mobile network operators and sales channels, as well as successfully marketing affordable pay-as-you-go mobile services to migrants. Hosted by the Mobily network, Lebara's offering is designed to appeal to the estimated 10m expatriates living in Saudi Arabia. Pre-paid SIM cards and recharge vouchers will be available in Saudi Post and other retailers across the country.
"We place significant importance on our alliance with Lebara," said HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Chairman of Lebara Mobile KSA. "Such an alliance will play a significant role in bringing differentiated mobile services not only to the Kingdom but to the region."
"We are thrilled to be working with our Saudi partners and we're looking forward to building more partnerships in the Gulf region. Offering high quality and low cost mobile products to migrant communities is the driving force of our business. With today's launch we'll be able to offer this service to the millions of expats living and working in Saudi Arabia, helping them stay connected to their friends and family at home," commented Yoganathan Ratheesan, Chairman and CEO of Lebara Group.
"One of Lebara's main objectives in KSA is to bridge the gap and provide more affordable international and local voice, as well as data services, for our market segments in KSA, while maintaining high quality levels," added Fadi Kawar, Chief Executive Officer of Lebara KSA.
