Laura Prepon Celebrates 'The Good Earth' with EDGE Magazine
Spring issue also features Q&A's with stars of TV's Prospectors and New York Times best-selling author Kristin Ohlson
ELIZABETH, N.J., April 21, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Since its launch six years ago, EDGE Magazine has become known as the regional magazine with a national audience. Much of the momentum it has built is a result of its "themed" issues and the thoughtful interviews it conducts with entertainment and cultural celebrities.
The "Good Earth" issue of EDGE is no exception. Laura Prepon, star of the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, has been eating organic since she was a child. She talks about her unconventional upbringing in Watchung, NJ. Kristin Ohlson, author of The Soil Will Save Us, identifies a no-brainer fix to the carbon choking our atmosphere. Cast members Amanda Adkins Anderson and Krystle Dorris Velasco—two of the strongest female characters on TV—take EDGE readers inside the hit reality series Prospectors.
In her interview with Gerry Strauss, Prepon reveals that she is co-authoring a book on organic eating-and-living with health coach Elizabeth Troy. It was Troy, she says, who helped her overcome a number of health problems.
"I have been struggling with a bunch of different ailments in secret for a long time," Prepon admits, adding that before she began working with Troy, she was "seeing all these doctors and spending all this crazy money and taking all these pills. None of that was working."
Among the other Earth-related features is a cinematographer's list of the 12 ultimate "end-of-the-earth" movies, a story on environmental landscaping for suburban homeowners, a profile on Dan Richer—New Jersey's hottest young restaurateur—and Rock Solid, a fashion shoot featuring earth tones and natural fibers against a stunning desert backdrop.
EDGE is a lifestyle magazine published by Trinitas Regional Medical Center, in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
