Sony Red Artist, Laura Michelle debuts 13 Song Album co-produced by Executive Producer Jarrett Zellea (Howie Day, Luther Vandross, Santana) and Jim McGorman (Avril Lavigne, Shakira), and winding you through the heartbreak, love, and lessons in her life.
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the release of the viral video (with over 8 million views) for her first single, Chuck Norris, dubbed the "Hit Song of the Summer"-OK! Magazine, Laura Michelle releases "Novel with No End" offering a bridge between heartbreak, love, and life lessons that have shaped the songwriters' life to her fans.
This introspective and adventurous album weaves a unique sound and style through its 13 tracks. With open and honest lyrics, Laura gives the listener insights into her personality and sends messages about self-empowerment and authenticity.
"Novel with No End" is produced by an all-star lineup: Jim McGorman, two-time Grammy winner Jarrett Zellea, and was engineered and mixed by Multi-Grammy-winner Rafa Sardina. The album also features a stellar group of musicians, including drummer Marc Slutsky (Splendor, Drake Bell) and bassist Jon Button (Roger Daltrey, Sheryl Crow, Shakira).
The title track of the album is particularly important to Laura as it is a written tribute to her late father. "He couldn't sing a note—he got such a kick out of the fact that I could," she smiles. "The song is about the feelings I never really told anybody or expressed. It was one of those songs that kind of wrote itself."
Another standout track, "Chameleon," shows off what Laura describes as her "slightly sadistic" side. With an innate concern for anything but the truth of her emotions, she skewers an ex with lyrics that cut to the bone: "You used to be handsome, a little less homeless, a little less hopeless." As she explains, there was no other route to completing the song: "I wanted it to stay true to the story."
The album will be celebrated on September 1st, 2016 in Los Angeles with a full concert orchestrated by musical director Jim McGorman and all-star musicians including: Steve Fekete, Al Berry, Steve Ferlazzo, Marc Slutsky, and Rachel Grace at the legendary El Rey Theatre. An additional concert event will follow to coincide with Fashion Week in New York on September 9th, 2016.
