SAN FRANCISCO, May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Launchpad Digital Health, the leading next generation of seed funds + accelerator for digital health, significantly expands its senior team. Two additional individuals, Randall Lipps and Paul Edwards, join Launchpad Digital Health as general partners. "Now is the time for us to expand our senior team at Launchpad Digital Health, and the addition of Randall and Paul are both fantastic additions. Their decades of healthcare technology experience will greatly enhance the success of the firm and our companies," said Fred Toney, CEO & Co-Founder.
Randall Lipps, new General Partner at LDH, has extensive industry expertise as a healthcare technology senior executive. Randall founded Omnicell, Inc., a medication and medical supply management technology company, in 1992, and serves as Chairman, President, and CEO. Today Omnicell is a publicly-traded company with 2,400 employees. Since 2003, Omnicell has been recognized as one of the top 150 Silicon Valley companies, as measured by market capitalization. Recently the company acquired Aesynt, formerly McKesson's automated pharmacy dispensing systems business, from Francisco Partners, greatly expanding Omnicell's product portfolio. "The digital transformation of healthcare has already begun improving healthcare for everyone by reshaping the patient and provider experience," said Lipps. "Launchpad is positioned to strongly accelerate this momentum, and I am excited to be part of the organization leading this effort."
Paul Edwards, new Operating Partner at LDH, has an extensive healthcare and investing background. Paul has over 20 years of experience in the medical technology and healthcare markets as a Principal at Latterell Venture Partners, and in many senior operating and marketing positions at Medtronic, Boston Scientific and Guidant, and in laboratory operations at SmithKline Beecham. He joins us directly from Hercules Capital, and he has completed many capital transactions throughout his career for healthcare and health-tech companies. "I believe Launchpad Digital Health offers startups a unique and early opportunity to gain not only meaningful capital, but also gain access to operational guidance from experienced members," said Paul Edwards. "I am excited to become a part of the team."
