LOS ANGELES, Nov. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), with the continued support of Anheuser-Busch, today announced the upcoming dates and locations for its 2014-2015 LUNA (Latinos Uniting & Networking for Advancement) events. The new calendar, with its slate of prestigious speakers, kicked off with events in New York and Houston, featuring keynote addresses by telecom executive Sol Trujillo and Procter and Gamble Vice President Edgar A. Sandoval. This season's LUNA events continue through 2015, with receptions in San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, and Dallas.
"HSF's LUNA series has been an amazing way to bring together HSF Scholars, as well as Alumni and other accomplished Latino professionals within the community, to network, build relationships, and get involved. We are so fortunate to have had Sol Trujillo, a global telecom executive with three decades' experience, who is also one of our nation's digital telecom pioneers, open our season in New York. And in Houston, we had the pleasure of featuring Edgar A. Sandoval, Vice President, Global Feminine Care at The Procter and Gamble Company, the force behind the viral #LikeAGirl campaign, and HSF Board of Directors member," said Fidel A. Vargas, President and CEO of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
"By talking about their personal stories, challenges, and accomplishments, these remarkable individuals provide invaluable insights and set a high bar for up-and-coming leaders. Together with the other outstanding professionals who are featured and participate in other ways at our LUNA events, they enable everyone to walk away with new contacts and the opportunity to continue to enhance their own professional journeys," he said
Upcoming LUNA events will feature additional prominent speakers, such as Ruben Navarrette, Jr., Syndicated Columnist, The Washington Post Writers Group and Juan Galarraga, Senior Vice President of Stores, Target Corp. and HSF Board of Directors member.
The LUNA series provides intimate settings in various cities across the country, in which Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholars and Alumni can interact with keynote speakers and other leaders from the public and private sectors.
