This year's Best of L.A. PEOPLE features Dodger Matt Kemp, Actress Carrie Fisher, Musician Adam Lambert, Impresario Jonny Coffin and Musician Kota Wade on five collectible covers, all chosen for their impact on life and culture in Los Angeles. Other top personalities in an issue of notables include USC Quarterback Matt Barkley, Super Surgeon Keith Black and Fearless Foodie Alice Shin.
Whether it's in the arts, music, politics or fashion, LA Weekly's editorial has chronicled LA's most interesting people and their stories like no other publication. Because of this, LA Weekly has earned genuine credibility with the people of the city who influence and ultimately, set the pace for others to follow. The Best of L.A. PEOPLE issue is a showcase of the coolest, most influential people in LA - people who are doing things their own original way - from politicians, to artists, to filmmakers and musicians, to club owners and concert promoters to artists, restaurateurs and fashion designers.
Best of L.A. PEOPLE is the second biggest issue of the year and sets itself apart from the regular issues with its focus on people as well as its glossy cover and magazine style bind. The issue boasts an extremely high pickup rate, and is so in demand that after the run is gone, copies become collector's items sold on eBay.
Scott Tobias, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Village Voice Media, LA Weekly's parent company, noted, "We are thrilled to publish Best of L.A. PEOPLE in the LA Weekly each year, it is a great example of our community involvement in the markets we serve. It is very rewarding when we can celebrate the accomplishments of the people we publish for."
LA Weekly publisher Beth Sestanovich added, "Best of L.A. PEOPLE is an annual treasured resource for Angelenos. Readers devour each page of the issue and keep it around all year for reference of who's cool in LA, both for the editorial and the advertising."
Due to its popularity the LA Weekly will distribute 165,000 issues of Best of L.A. PEOPLE throughout the Los Angeles region starting Thursday May 17. Better pick one up before it's gone!
About LA Weekly

From the beginning, the paper has found success by drawing in readers with comprehensive calendar listings and cultural coverage, and then keeping those readers loyal with bold news and political coverage and in-depth feature stories by some of the country's finest writers. LA Weekly has won more awards from the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies than any other paper in the country, and in 2007 was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for food criticism.
