Kronos and TeleTracking Relationship to Help Improve Operational Efficiencies for Hospitals
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- From the world's largest workforce management information exchange, KronosWorks, TeleTracking Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has launched a relationship with Kronos Incorporated to further help joint hospital customers meet operational efficiency and quality care goals.
The relationship was prompted by an increasing need to control healthcare labor costs and a projected shortfall of more than 250,000 nurses in the coming decade, according to TeleTracking President Michael Gallup. Added efficiencies around staffing to demand can result in significant savings, considering that more than half of any hospital's operational costs are labor related.
Through a two-way integration between the Kronos employee scheduling solution and the TeleTracking patient flow and capacity management system, joint customers will benefit from an end-to-end staff management system. The integrated solution combines TeleTracking's market-leading operational management expertise with the global leadership of Kronos in employee scheduling and staff resource management.
"As market leaders in our respective categories, we believe we can provide the best choice available to the marketplace by leveraging the strengths and experiences of both companies," said Susan Reese, director, healthcare practice group, Kronos.
The upcoming release of TeleTracking's Capacity Management Suite™ system (version 3.2) featuring the integration with Kronos will provide real-time, around-the-clock volume data, such as incoming patients; discharges; and transitions in level-of-care.
"Current research shows an increased demand for human capital management solutions to improve staff recruitment, training, utilization and retention," said Michael Gallup. "This is essential, considering that nearly 45 percent of all nurses in the U.S. are nearing retirement. Also, adding to the nurse shortage issue, the healthcare industry is shifting toward a value-based delivery model, driving changes in the way operational initiatives are managed in hospitals."
