Korduroy.tv Premiers Emmy Award Winning Director and Surfer, Cyrus Sutton's Newest Film 'Stoked and Broke': A Staycation Surfari Epic on Zero Dollars
OPENING NIGHT NEW YORK SURF FILM FESTIVAL 2010
ENCINITAS, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Korduroy.tv, spreading digital aloha, announced today the premier of "Stoked and Broke", opening night of the New York Surf Film Festival, written and directed by Emmy award winning, director and surfer Cyrus Sutton
Making their own boards, bamboo rickshaws, solar cookers, and hobo stoves, surfers Ryan Burch and Cyrus Sutton set off on a thirty mile, eight day walk through San Diego, CA. But what begins as a guide to taking a minimalist surfing journey, quickly becomes an examination of freedom vs. alienation.
Starring: Ryan Burch, Cyrus Sutton
Soundtrack: The Blank Tapes, Mike McCarthy and Anastasia Van Wingerden
A member of the "Entitlement generation," Cyrus Sutton was born and raised at the heart of Orange County during the height of 80′s consumerism. However, lengthy minimalist excursions into oceanic and mountainous wildernesses gave him a perspective not shared by many his age. His surf related projects include "Riding Waves" which he made at the ripe age of nineteen, "Under the Sun" which was featured at the inaugural NYSFF and "Tom's Creation Plantation." At 23 he won an EMMY for his work on "A Tsunami Relief Story" for Fuel TV and his latest project Korduroy.tv was recently voted the best surf blog in world in Surfer Magazine's "Battle of the Blogs" poll.
