Kings Dominion is Proud to Announce the Return of the "Tribute to the Armed Forces"
Free Admission to Past and Present Members of the Military Saturday-Monday May 28-30 and Sunday and Monday July 3 and 4
DOSWELL, Va., May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kings Dominion, is pleased to announce that it will offer FREE admission to active, retired and former United States military personnel on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend, along with, Sunday and Monday of July 4th Weekend as a part of its "Tribute to the Armed Forces" program. The exact dates are May 28, 29, 30 and July 3, 4, 2011 and include all branches of the service, including National Guard and Reserves.
"The brave men and women of the Armed Forces sacrifice so much of their time with their families to help protect our country," stated Pat Jones, Vice President and General Manager of Kings Dominion. "This is our way of saying thank you to them by allowing them to save money and spend a fun-filled day together with their families."
The free ticket offer will be available on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend and Sunday and Monday of Independence Day Weekend. A valid military ID or discharge papers must be presented at Kings Dominion on one of the dates of the program.
Also as a part of its Tribute to the Armed Forces program, active, retired and former members of the U.S. military will be able to purchase discounted admission tickets for members of their immediate family (maximum of six) at a special military discount price of $34.99 at the park. Many of the MWR and ITT Recreation offices located in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C. and North Carolina offer discounted admission tickets; Kings Dominion suggests you purchase your friends and family tickets at these locations.
To help usher in summer Kings Dominion will also light up the skies with an amazing display of fireworks set to patriotic music on May 28 and 29.
A sure sign that summer has arrived is the opening of Kings Dominion's Water Works, a 20-acre water playland. Starting Saturday May 28 guests can ride all the HOT roller coasters and then COOL off in the endless wave-pools and water-slides of Central Virginia's coolest oasis!
Daily operation begins Friday, May 27. Water Works waterpark opens Saturday, May 28 for daily operation. Kings Dominion is a 400-acre amusement park and waterpark, that is home to over 60 total rides, slides, live shows and attractions. The park features one of the largest roller coaster collections on the East-Coast, with 15 World-Class scream-machines, two children's areas, and Water Works, a 20-acre water playground.
