Kingdom of Morocco and Michel Haddi to be Honored
'King of Celebrity Snappers' 25-years of fashion photography to be celebrated on Tuesday, June 22, at Amnesia
NEW YORK, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, June 22, one the world's leading fashion photographers of the last twenty-five years, Michel Haddi, otherwise known as the "King of celebrity snappers" will be celebrated at New York-based Amnesia along with the Kingdom of Morocco and Macys.
French by birth and Moroccan by heritage, Haddi's grandfather traveled by foot through the "two mules" located at the tip of the city of Oujda, Morocco into Algeria. Historically, if we trace the lines of migration or the connectivity and blending of many cultures, this story is not unique as the "gate" between the West and the East had already been growing wider with each technological advancement and intellectual curiosity. In that respect, Haddi has returned to the Kingdom of Morocco countless times.
In attendance will be some of the most influential people in fashion, film, television, sports, publishing and business including: Fashion icon Marissa Berenson, Linda Evangelista, Veronique Gabai, Sandra Bernhard, Lisa Marie, IMG Fashion, Ford Agency, Marilyn Gauthier Agency, Vanity Fair magazine, Assouline Publishing, ESPN magazine as well as many others. Princesse Lalla Hasna, to which Michel Haddi's photograph "A Flower," print number 1/1 will be made available. The proceeds from this auction will be given to the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment.
Haddi has shot celebrities such as James Brown, David Bowie, Liza Minnelli, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp and Jennifer Lopez. In Morocco, Haddi has for publications such as Vogue Magazine and Arena Magazine, and brought Paul Bowles (author of The Sheltering Sky) and Film Director Tim Burton there on various projects – a shining example of his commitment to Morocco, its culture and people. Just this year, before shooting the Vanity Fair collection during fashion week in Milan, Haddi shot the world-wide Macys campaign in Marrakesh.
