Kindful Announces New Integration with Square for Nonprofits to Accept In Person Donations
NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kindful, a software company that provides a fundraising and donor management platform for nonprofits, has announced a new integration with Square, making Kindful one of the first in the category to integrate with the leading mobile payment processor.
Kindful continues to innovate in the nonprofit sector by integrating with Square, giving nonprofit users the ability to accept donations in person using one of the most recognizable card readers. Kindful strives to provide nonprofits with software and donor experiences that feel up-to-date and frictionless. "As consumers, we've already changed our expectations about how easy it should be to pay for things," comments Pankaj Bengani, Square's Partnerships Lead. "Square has helped shape a more streamlined transaction experience, and charitable giving shouldn't be any different."
The Kindful team showcased the new Square integration at the Association of Fundraising Professionals conference in San Francisco, where they launched a campaign to fundraise for CodeNow, a nonprofit working with underprivileged students to provide coding and computing skills. Outfitted with Square readers, Kindful was able to raise hundreds of dollars for CodeNow and instantly pass the transaction data into CodeNow's Kindful account.
Integrating with Square is not the only way Kindful is exploring new territory in the nonprofit technology space. Earlier this year, Kindful released its Donation Plugin, a mobile-optimized giving experience that makes it easier than ever for donors to give on a nonprofit's website. The plugin streamlines the giving experience by completing the entire transaction without redirecting the donor to a checkout or shopping cart. "Nonprofits are still learning about the differences between online giving and more traditional methods, especially with regard to the mobile experience," observes Katie Pflueger, VP of product development at Kindful. "Today's donors value easier, more streamlined experiences and are less likely to abandon the donation flow if there are fewer steps, page loads and data fields to navigate."
The Square integration joins a rapidly growing list of technology partners available in Kindful's app ecosystem. Independent developers have also joined the movement through Kindful's innovation fund, Code for Kindness. The fund adds a philanthropic twist for developers, providing a compensation package that includes a donation to a charity of their choice.
