Keblo Energy Deepens Tennessee Well, Makes 100 BOD Well
BYRDSTOWN, Tenn., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Keblo Energy LLC announced here today it deepened a well in Fentress County, Tennessee that had quit producing oil and hit a 80 barrel a day (BOD) well.
The Threet #1, Permit #11833, located at 11-A-54E, 2550 FSL, 625 FWL, was originally drilled to a total depth of 1,150 ft. in November 2008. It initially produced oil from Stones River formation, in the Ordovician group.
"Initial production was 50 BOD," said Lori J. Morel, CEO, Keblo Energy LLC, "Then the oil production began to drop off. We believed that the oil was actually coming from the deeper Murfreesboro formation, also in the Ordovician group, so earlier this week we decided to deepen the well."
Tennessee Rotary Drilling, Livingston, moved an air rotary rig over the well in late April 2010 and deepened the well 300 feet into the Murfreesboro formation.
"The well tried to flow as we were coming out of the hole with the drill pipe. We shut the well in and put it on pump. It had an initial I.P. (Initial Production) of 250 barrels day, but we are producing at the rate of 80 to 100 BOD to conserve the gas in the reservoir," explained Morel.
"We have an excellent lease position surrounding the Threet lease and plan to develop it in the very near future to capitalize on these excellent crude oil prices," she added.
