JT Batson Joins Donovan Data Systems as President of the Company's Digital Business
EVP of the Rubicon Project Brings Deep Knowledge of Digital Marketplace
NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Donovan Data Systems (DDS), the acknowledged leader in systems and software for the advertising industry, today announced the appointment of JT Batson as president of the company's Digital Business.
Batson, who has worked at the forefront of digital media for the past six years, is EVP of Revenue and Global Development at the Rubicon Project. At DDS, he will be responsible for leading the company's digital agenda as well as offering strategic counsel to advertising agency clients and their trading desks as they develop their digital businesses. He will be based at DDS' headquarters in Manhattan and begin his new role in July, 2010.
"With a background in innovative Silicon Valley start-ups and with his more recent role at the Rubicon Project, the leader in digital advertising yield optimization, JT has compelling credentials," said Michael Donovan, Chairman and CEO of DDS. "His expertise, experience and relationships are the right fit for DDS as we continue to provide world-class digital ad management solutions to clients. He brings a powerful new dimension to our capabilities, notably our iDesk digital campaign management system, and I'm thrilled to enlist him as part of my team. I look forward to him making a strong contribution to our rapidly growing digital business."
Said Batson, "I'm honored to join Michael and the DDS team. There's no company better positioned to support ad agencies' next wave of growth and profitability. What's most exciting is the fact that DDS has a proven track record of helping to bring order and efficiency to a chaotic media marketplace, and there's no medium that needs that more right now than digital."
While at the Rubicon Project, Batson was responsible for revenue and global development. During that time, the Rubicon Project expanded into five countries and is set for further substantial growth in 2010. Prior to joining the Rubicon Project, he worked at the Mozilla Corporation, where he led international and retention marketing efforts for Firefox. During his time at Mozilla, the number of Firefox users grew to over 120 million, with more than half of those outside the U.S.
"Our existing talent, applications and expertise, coupled with JT's appointment, reinforce our pre-eminent position as the international supplier of advertising systems and services to our clients in digital and traditional media," said Donovan.
