Josh Duhamel Takes on the Scottish Highlands
Famed Actor Shows his Courage - in the Name of Charity - at the DRAMBUIE® Pursuit
NEW YORK, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- DRAMBUIE® Liqueur today announced that celebrated actor Josh Duhamel has completed the 2010 DRAMBUIE Pursuit, the annual outdoor-adventure race across the Scottish Highlands. Duhamel led his triumphant team against 14 other teams from around the world, all racing to retrace the voyage of Scotland's rebel Bonnie Prince Charlie, for whom DRAMBUIE was originally created in 1745. In the end Duhamel and his team came in fifth place, and despite a demonstration of guts and determination, were finally beaten by a team of friends from The Netherlands.

Leading a team of fierce competitors who won a place on his team via online application at the DRAMBUIE Web site, us.drambuie.com, Duhamel proved his skill in trials of archery, speedboat racing, whitewater rafting, mountain climbing and more throughout the 100-mile grueling action adventure race.
Each year, teams of four adults (over 25 years of age) are flown to Scotland from around the world to race across the Scottish Highlands between Inverness and the Isle of Skye, in celebration of Bonnie Prince Charlie's legendary escape from the British government forces, after a failed attempt to regain the throne. Once safe passage was secured, the Prince left to his loyal aides the only thing he had left to his name: the recipe for DRAMBUIE that to this day remains secret.
"We came to Scotland to have fun, and that's exactly what we did," said Duhamel. "This was one of the most challenging and memorable experiences of my life and, while it's a shame we didn't win, I'm glad I got to do it on behalf of The Pat Tillman Foundation!"
"The spirit of Bonnie Prince Charlie truly lives on at the DRAMBUIE Pursuit," said Cherie Koster, Marketing Manager for DRAMBUIE. "And we congratulate Team Josh for putting on such a great display this year. The stakes are raised at every race, and we look forward to an even greater level of competition and spirit next year!"
