CHICAGO, Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- When Alexandra and Yelena signed their kids up for TheJMom.com, neither of them ever dreamed that they'd be planning a wedding.
"My youngest, Anatoly, was on dating websites," said Yelena. "He would say, 'I don't have time to use the site.' I heard about TheJMom.com, that let's moms like me do the picking."
"I saw the website in my paper," said Alexandra, mother of Alina. "I showed my daughter, 'I want to sign up for you.' She said, 'Mom, if you want to do it you can.'"
So she did.
"One day, I saw the profile of Anatoly," said Alexandra. "I thought he had a lot in common with my daughter. I showed her his profile and she thought he was handsome."
Alexandra emailed Yelena: "I think your son could be a good match for my daughter."
Yelena agreed. "I sent my son her daughter's picture," she said. "His response was immediate: Mom she is beautiful, he told me. I was surprised to hear my son say that, because with every other girl he'd say, she's OK, but here he said, she is beautiful."
Anatoly and Alina began corresponding. It was love at first email.
Emails turned into long phone calls, until finally Alina invited Anatoly to visit New Jersey.
"I asked my daughter if we could have him for Shabbat dinner. He came and we liked him very much," said Alexandra.
Soon after, Anatoly invited Alina for a visit to Texas, on the trip, he proposed.
"They just knew each other was the one," said Yelena.
"We could not have been any happier when we heard the news," said Brad Weisberg, who along with his sister, Danielle, co-founded the site.
"This is such a big moment for us," said Danielle. "Our first marriage! We knew we were on to something, but we never thought it would happen this fast."
Anatoly and Alina aren't the only ones who've found their beshert on the site. "Yelena and I talk every day," said Alexandra. "And if we don't, I miss her. She's truly become my best friend."
