Insight, the 2012 autobiography of Jing Chai, a well-known journalist and TV host in China, tops the list. Jing Chai is a host on CCTV, China's most prominent television outlet, and is also an investigative journalist who has reported from the frontlines of major social events in China over the past decade. In Insight, she shares her experiences and thoughts on the most transformational events in China over that period, including the 2003 SARS outbreak, and the Sichuan Earthquake and Beijing Olympics, both of which took place in 2008.
Big Data: A Revolution That Will Transform How We Live, Work, and Think, which covers the hottest topics in the technology and e-commerce space, debuted on the list at number 4. Co-authored by Oxford Professor Viktor Mayer-Schonberger, and Kenneth Cukier, data editor of The Economist, the book explains what "big data" is and discusses how today's technology is providing unprecedented access to data, changing the way we think and live. The book was originally published in English and was translated for sale on JD.com Global.
