IRVING, Texas, Sept. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- BT today announced the appointment of Javier Semerene as vice president for Latin America to lead its operations across the region. BT currently operates in 22 Latin American countries, employing more than 1,000 people locally to support global customers investing in the region and to help large Latin American companies expand globally.

Javier Semerene joins BT from TIGO Business Latin America, a subsidiary of Millicom International Cellular, where he was chief operating officer. From 2008 to 2010, Mr Semerene was vice president, Latin America, at Orange Business Services. He previously held senior positions in AT&T, managing strong revenue growth in the Caribbean and Latin America, before becoming regional vice president for the Middle East and Africa.
