iris360 Captures Businesses in 360 Degrees for New Street View App
EDINBURGH, Scotland, September 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Photographers and businesses get behind NCTech's high-resolution panoramic camera
NCTech, the developer of reality imaging systems, today announced that its iris360 camera will start shipping this month - in conjunction with the launch of Google Maps' new Street View app. iris360 is fully integrated with Street View to allow users to capture and upload high-resolution panoramic photos directly via the app.
Many businesses view 360-degree images as an important aspect of their online marketing. iris360 is the only fully automated, panoramic camera system available today to deliver the 32 megapixel photo sphere resolution required under Street View | Trusted. As a certification program, Trusted focuses on recognizing professionals who consistently deliver their clients with the highest quality "photo spheres" of business interiors.
MassInteract is a commercial photography agency based in Chicago, specializing in the 360 degree capture of businesses for online virtual tours. The company has placed an order for multiple iris360 units as it looks to expand its panoramic imaging offering.
"We want to offer more businesses the opportunity to enhance their online presence with panoramic images," said Adil Qayyum, CEO, MassInteract. "With its fast, high-quality output and automated integration with Street View, iris360 is a tool that can help us quickly scale up our business."
iris360 is remote-controlled by a mobile phone or tablet, and quickly captures high-resolution 360 degree images from its four sensors. With one touch, iris360 captures and delivers an 8K resolution, HDR panoramic image in less than two minutes.
"The high resolution and speed of the iris360 camera makes it the perfect tool to support business participation in Street View," said Charles Armstrong, Product Manager for the Google Street View apps and Trusted program. "NCTech has taken an important step in helping others record and explore our world with high fidelity, 360 degree imagery."
This speed of capture means that one iris360 owner could conceivably shoot and upload a full street's worth of business interiors in a single day.
"iris360 is ideal for Google Trusted photographers who wish to scale-up their business to capture more locations more quickly, or for consumers who want to be able to capture their own high-quality 360 degree images," said Cameron/Neil, NCTech. "In addition, we feel that there is an additional opportunity for businesses that wish to capture and upload their own, panoramic images."
NCTech is the company behind the industrial-grade iSTAR 360 degree camera system, which is widely used in commercial, engineering, military and government departments.
iris360 is currently available from http://www.nctechimaging.com at $1,999.
