Iogen Energy appoints former Shell executive as Chief Operating Officer

OTTAWA, July 7 /PRNewswire/ - Iogen Energy today announced that Duncan Macleod has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Iogen Energy, a 50-50 joint venture between Iogen Corporation and Royal Dutch Shell.

Mr. Macleod will become President and Chief Executive Officer of Iogen Energy on September 30th, 2010, replacing founding President and current CEO Brian Foody. Mr. Foody will assume the role of Chairman of Iogen Energy and continue in his role as President and CEO of Iogen Corporation.

Mr. Macleod will have operational responsibility for Iogen Energy, and oversee the technology development program to advance commercialization of Iogen Energy's cellulosic ethanol. He joins Iogen Energy from Shell, where he was Vice President with responsibility for Shell Hydrogen.

Mr. Macleod's career at Shell spanned more than three decades, working in the hydrocarbon and alternative energy industry in South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. He was instrumental in setting up Shell's biofuels technology venture with Iogen in 2002, and is a former member of Iogen Energy's Board of Directors.
