It was inspired by Latin words denoting respect and the word core. The name announcement follows the SI's corporate acquisitions including PhaseOne Communications, Applied Communication Sciences, and most recently, QinetiQ North America, services and solutions group. Each of the acquired companies has a diverse set of capabilities, which when combined resulted in the need for a new brand that is representative and inclusive of the full suite of unique solutions and services that Vencore has to offer.
