INTREN Promotes Gunnink to Account Manager
Utility Contractor Promotes Wisconsin-Based Woman to Account Manager of Midwest Region North/West
UNION, Ill., May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its corporate reorganization, INTREN, a nationwide utility contractor, has promoted Brenda Gunnink, Senior Project Manager, to Account Manager, Midwest Region North/West. Gunnink will now oversee all major INTREN utility and municipal accounts in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
Being the primary point of contact for select INTREN customers, Gunnink is responsible for maintaining customer relationships, customer satisfaction, operational execution of contracts, ensuring safety and quality, and driving INTREN's core values and mission. Based out of INTREN's New Berlin, Wisconsin office, Gunnink will manage all overhead, underground residential distribution (URD) and engineering design work for INTREN's Midwest-based clients.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2014, there were a reported 9,813,000 people working in the construction industry. Of these, only 872,000 of them, or 8.9 percent, were women.
Entering the industry on the utility side, Gunnink worked for 10 years in operations, finance and contract management for one of Wisconsin's largest utilities. After coming to INTREN in 2013, Gunnink has grown in the ranks from Project Manager, to Senior Project Manager, and now to Account Manager. While at INTREN, Gunnink has completed INTREN's internal Leadership Training Courses and is an active participant in the Women's Energy Network (WEN).
