Intersolar North America Exhibition Space Nearly Sold Out
Growth in Interest of North American Solar Market Provides Boost in Exhibitor Sales
SAN FRANCISCO, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Intersolar North America, the premier exhibition for solar professionals to exchange information and develop business opportunities in the U.S. solar market, today announced that more than 80 percent of exhibitor space has been sold for the July 13-15, 2010 exhibition in San Francisco, CA. Co-located with SEMICON West, Intersolar North America 2010 expects about 700 international solar exhibitors, filling all three floors of Moscone Center West Hall.
Intersolar attributes the overwhelming global exhibitor interest, for the third consecutive year, to the growth of the North American solar industry over the last few years and its expected expansion in 2010. The U.S. likely installed 400 megawatts of new solar projects in 2009, and will see growth reach 1.5 gigawatts to 2 gigawatts of new installations in 2012, according to a report released by GTM Research. The strong predicted-demand represents over $6.1 billion in investments per year and the creation of 50,000 jobs.
"The solar industry has truly become a global marketplace and Intersolar North America reflects the current developments and high demand of the international solar industry," said Markus Elsasser, CEO of Solar Promotion International GmbH. "As such, more than 20,000 visitors and 1,600 conference attendees are expected to connect with the most important international industry players who showcase their innovative products in the more than 130,000 net sq. ft. of Moscone West during this year's 2010 exhibition and conference."
According to estimates from GTM's market report, PV demand in the U.S. will grow at a faster rate over the next four years in comparison to other larger markets. Within this timeframe, the U.S. could become the second largest PV market in the world, next to Germany. To accommodate new solar industry trends, growth and focus on the U.S. market, Intersolar North America has expanded its array of successful accompanying programs to the exhibition including:
- Intersolar North America Conference
- Job and Career Forum
- Innovation Exchange presentations
- Solar for All Global Initiative – A competition to make solar available to everyone.
"Heightened industry competition is leading many companies to step up their internationalization," said Klaus W. Seilnacht, CEO of Freiburg Management and Marketing International GmbH (FMMI), organizing partners of Intersolar North America. "Intersolar's global network of exhibitions and conferences greatly aids those efforts, putting vital information about the influential solar markets at the fingertips of solar professionals. Intersolar North America provides the forum for global companies to connect and discuss relevant U.S. solar issues."
