Industry Leaders Come Together to Build the Connected Car of the Future

(IMS), the leader in developing and delivering advanced, end-to-end vehicle solutions, is pleased to announce it has joined the ng Connect Program, a multi-industry initiative driving the development of next generation broadband services based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) and other high bandwidth technologies. Over the past year, the ng Connect Program has grown to include over 37 industry leading companies, more than doubling initial membership in its first year. IMS will bring its suite of industry-leading connected car technologies to the consortium's LTE Connected Car solution concept, including its hands-free, voice-based email and content platform for in-vehicle use - iLane(TM), DriveSync(TM), the leading turn-key telematics platform for usage-based insurance offerings, fleet monitoring, vehicle tracking, and government programs and Prompt(TM), a voice activated dispatch solution for the For-Hire-Vehicle industry.
The ng Connect Program's LTE Connected Car is an entirely new mobile platform concept for vehicles within which consumers will be able to access network and cloud-based applications, putting on-demand entertainment, infotainment, diagnostics, navigation and much more at their fingertips. This new mobile platform brings together leading component suppliers and content providers in order to develop the most innovative services to enrich the in-vehicle experience.
