Edward Douglas, Creative Director and Flying Helmet Games co-founder says "We remember a time when we played games together in the same room, face-to-face. Now a 'social' game is played alone with a screen or phone in front of you and your friends and competitors are miles away. We want to go back to a social game night where everyone is hanging out together having a good time."
Eon Altar is a cooperative role-playing adventure that blends the experience of classic tabletop gaming and modern video games in a Tabletop Video Game.
"Intel's support has been invaluable in ensuring we can optimize the Eon Altar for the widest range of platforms and OSs. We're entering the first generation where we know that nearly anyone who wants to play this kind of game can pull their phone out of their pocket and jump in a game with their friends," says Scott Pener, Lead Designer of Eon Altar.
Each player has their own personal handset connected to a shared tablet. On the tablet, the group experiences dungeon exploration, action combat, story reveals, exciting environments, and cinematic moments. On each of their handsets players manage characters and inventories, engage in individual combat and challenges, and explore world lore.
Eon Altar is in development for Tablets, PCs and Handset with iOS, Windows 8 and Android, and is intending an initial release date in early 2014.
