SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Consumer Watchdog will hold a telephone news conference TODAY at 1:00 PM PDT to discuss the results of an investigation, released this morning, by state insurance regulators into Mercury Insurance, which is sponsoring Proposition 17 on the June ballot. The California Department of Insurance (CDI) said that Mercury may have illegally overcharged and discriminated against thousands of California customers for over fifteen years. CDI filed an administrative lawsuit against Mercury and gave it ten days to correct every violation of law identified in its investigation.
