Insider Surveillance Announces Special Reports on Surveillance Leaders Outside The U.S. - Israel, UK and Russia
WASHINGTON, July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- At a time when American intelligence activities dominate world news, Insider Surveillance announces an exclusive series to examine the unexplored flip side: nations outside the U.S. that are leading producers of surveillance technology.
The 2014 series focuses on Israel, the United Kingdom and Russia. In addition to these in-depth reports, Insider Surveillance will continue its regular analysis of surveillance policy and events generally not covered by mainstream media.
From August - October, Insider Surveillance explores the work of surveillance technology leaders in the month's featured nation. The series will provide a "big picture" perspective on each country's often overlooked role in the multi-billion dollar global surveillance industry.
AUGUST – "The Riddle of the Sands." Outnumbered and nearly surrounded, how does Israel always come out on top? Credit a strategic focus on intelligence. August will cover Israeli companies that provide surveillance solutions across an array of technologies including mobile location, off-the-air interception, voice biometrics and military special ops.
SEPTEMBER – "The Sun Never Sets on British Intelligence." In late 2013, the UK won inclusion of surveillance technology in the Wassenaar Arrangement, an accord governing export of conventional weapons and dual-use goods and technologies. There's much to keep tabs on. Second only to the U.S., the British surveillance industry produces everything from lawful intercept hardware to mobile location tracking systems, social media monitoring and malware.
OCTOBER – "From Vlad, With Love." Under Putin, Russia has evolved to a nation where private lawful intercept and surveillance technology companies thrive. So have similar ventures in former Soviet bloc nations that now find themselves on opposites sides from ex-Mother Russia. How do they line up? Find out in October.
Insider Surveillance will close the year with:
NOVEMBER -- "The Best in Lawful Intercept." The top mediation devices, probes and routers, and the "trusted third parties" that sell them to communications service providers.
DECEMBER -- "2015: The Year Ahead." Outlook on technologies and standards. Overview of ISS World. Also: How Edward Snowden made 2014 a boom year for surveillance companies.
