InfoComm Distinguished Achievement Award Presented to Sonny Davis
LAS VEGAS, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoComm International®, the leading professional audiovisual trade association presented its Distinguished Achievement Award to Sonny Davis during the InfoComm International President's VIP Reception. The event took place at InfoComm 2010, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow worldwide, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Sonny Davis has more than 30 years of experience in the audiovisual industry as a manufacturer representative, manufacturer and dealership owner. He owned and started five successful companies associated with the industry. His legacy continues with Technical Innovations, a company with offices in four states.
Sonny Davis served as the Secretary Treasurer, President Elect, President, and Chairman of the Board of InfoComm from 1992 to 1995. During Sonny's terms of office, the Association started its first ever trade show in Singapore, rebuilt the association's financial structure to be fiscally sound, and focused its activities under the mission of providing education, certification and training to help the industry move from traditional transactional sales to the systems integration business structure of today. He also served as the President of ICIF and was instrumental in re-launching the Foundation and raised over $2 million, which was used to develop the InfoComm Academy Facility, the InfoComm Academy Online, as well as the Installation and Design Schools.
InfoComm's Distinguished Achievement Award is the highest honor bestowed on an industry member by the association. "When the InfoComm Board of Directors considers honoring a member with the Distinguished Achievement Award, two major criteria are applied – the career accomplishments of an individual, and the individual's contribution to the AV industry," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director and CEO, InfoComm International. "Sonny Davis was a central force in changing our industry through the companies he operated, as well as the new directions he chartered as an InfoComm leader. We gratefully acknowledge his achievements and lasting legacy."
