If You're Looking for a Job in PR or Corporate Communications, Ragan's Free Six-Month Membership to Ragan Select Could Help
CHICAGO, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Are you looking for a job in PR or corporate communications? Do you own an independent PR and communications agency that is struggling to make it through the recession?
Ragan Communications announced Friday that it will extend its popular free membership program for Ragan Select until Friday, Feb. 26.
Mark Ragan, CEO of the Chicago-based publishing company, said the company will also extend its offer to independent PR agencies and corporate communications consultants.
"When we announced last week that we were offering free Ragan Select memberships to communicators who've lost their jobs, we heard from a lot of freelancers and independent consultants," Ragan said. "They are our customers, too, so we decided to expand the free offer and extend it another week."
Ragan timed the announcement on Friday to coincide with Help a PR Pro Out -- an online campaign launched on Twitter to help PR professionals find jobs.
"We thought this was perfect for PR people, internal communicators and corporate communications professionals looking for a job," Ragan said.
Ragan Select membership was launched three years ago and features a daily news site, free webinars for members, and a database of more than 15,000 case studies and stories about best practices in the industry. Annual membership is $279.
The company has set up a Web page to register for the free offer.
"Many of our customers are still looking for work--even a year after being laid off," Ragan said. "They need to stay in touch with industry trends and practices to stay competitive in the job market. Our hope is that Ragan Select will help them do that."
