Hunter Wise Managing Director Dan McClory Receives 'Eastern Man Award' From Eastern Michigan University

IRVINE, Calif. and YPSILANTI, Mich., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Hunter Wise Financial Group, LLC is pleased to announce that Managing Director Daniel McClory will receive the Eastern Michigan University "Eastern Man Award," given annually at the men's cross country team banquet to honor an alumnus who has made a significant contribution to EMU.

Mr. McClory, three-time captain and four-year letterman on the men's track and field and cross country teams, pledged in 2008 a $1 million donation to the university's track and cross country teams, the largest gift ever to the EMU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

While attending EMU, Mr. McClory was a three-time captain and four-year letterman on the men's track and field and cross country teams. He was also a writer for the Eastern Echo, EMU's campus newspaper, and a founding member of the University Ambassadors Society. He turned in his top performance for EMU as a junior cross country runner in 1979 when he was the top EMU runner and 45th overall at the NCAA District Championship. That same year, he finished 19th overall as EMU's third runner at the Mid-American Conference Men's Cross Country Championship. He was subsequently named an "Outstanding Young Alumnus" by EMU and is a member of the Eastern Michigan University Foundation Board of Trustees.

For the past decade, Mr. McClory has provided U.S.-European-Asian corporate finance and investment banking services. For the last six years, he has served as a managing director for Hunter Wise Financial Group, LLC, in Irvine, Calif., which provides mid-market investment banking services from offices in the U.S., the United Kingdom, China and Canada. Mr. McClory leads the Hunter Wise Small Cap Equities practice, which has assisted more than 50 American, Chinese and European companies in finding growth capital through the public markets, and acting on merger and acquisition opportunities.

In recognition of his extensive involvement in and contribution to the sports he participated in at EMU, McClory was named a Director of the USA Track & Field Foundation Board, which is chaired by Nasdaq OMX CEO Bob Greifeld. The USATF Foundation, headquartered in Indianapolis, provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging athletes and anti-doping education.

Mr. McClory is a member of the Corporate Finance Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He was among the first group of investment banking professionals worldwide to be awarded the prestigious Corporate Finance Qualification sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the ICAEW. Dan is also a member of the Association of Chinese Finance Professionals, the Hedge Fund Association, the US-China Chamber of Commerce, the Royal Over-Seas League and the British-American Business Council.
