CARNEGIE, Pa., Nov. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With need at an all-time high and donations down, annual Salvation Army Thanksgiving Community Dinners often hang in the balance. But, once again, thanks to the generosity of Bottom Dollar Food, the Thanksgiving dinners are on again for the second consecutive year and scheduled as planned. The discount grocer will be donating 300 turkeys, which will be picked up from its Carnegie (Scott Township) location by Salvation Army staff on Wednesday, November 20. The donation will support approximately 3,000 Allegheny County meals. "Bottom Dollar Food has been there when we have needed them most," said Major William H. Bode, The Salvation Army's Western Pennsylvania Divisional Commander. "Hundreds of hungry families will have a happier holiday thanks to their continued generosity."
