LAS VEGAS, February 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Hotel WiFi Test has published its first report selecting and ranking the Top 100 Hotels and the Top 10 Hotel Chains in accordance to their respective WiFi service. The reported results are based on data collected during the first four months of the Hotel WiFi Test service that ran from October 10, 2013 to February 10, 2014. This is the first report of its kind and scale. Given that more and more travelers plan on actively using WiFi at hotels for activities such as accessing their cloud workspace and watching streaming videos, this information has become more and more important.
The Top 10 Hotel Chains list is useful for consumers to pick a preferred hotel chain for their trips. Achieving a high rank on the list means that the hotel chain is very concerned about WiFi quality, and you can expect better than average Internet speed, even at the hotels that have not yet been tested.
Andaz Hotels by Hyatt confidently took the top spot on the top chains list. Le Meridien and Radisson Blue were ranked second and third, respectively.
The Top 100 Hotels list is compiled to recognize the hotels with excellent WiFi service. The listed hotels can use their position in this list to promote their hotel and increase the amount of business travelers as a reward for their investment in superior WiFi quality.
The Emblem Hotel in Prague, Czech Republic demonstrated the best test results. Most of the test results from this hotel are well above 100 Mbps and WiFi is also free. The question is: how have they achieved such impressive results? The hotel management claims that they have fiber optic cables installed on all the floors and that they are plugged into the main Prague connection. Two hotels from the United States took the next two spots: TradeWinds Island Grand in St. Pete Beach, Florida and the DoubleTree by Hilton in Chicago, Illinois.
