Hooters Donates $103,731 to Stop Hunger Now and the Haiti Relief Effort
ATLANTA, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on a pledge to donate 100% of sales from US and Canadian Hooters Restaurants during the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl XLIV, Hooters is making a donation of $103,731 to Stop Hunger Now and the Haiti relief effort. Named "Hooters 4 Haiti", the donation is the result of totaling all stores sales for the 46 minute time frame that the 4th quarter lasted, combined with a Facebook Fanpage ad campaign which donated $1 per new fan of Hooters to the fund.
The money raised will feed approximately 300,000 children in Haiti through Stop Hunger Now, an international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world.
"I personally would like to thank Hooters and all their customers for working together with Stop Hunger Now to help feed the earthquake victims in such desperate need in Haiti," stated Ray Buchanan, President of Stop Hunger Now. "The Hooters for Haiti campaign is a powerful example of corporate citizenship at its best. Thank you Hooters for showing us that caring, compassion and corporate responsibility are all alive and well."
