Homeland Security and Government Affairs Expert Michael Balboni Joins Cardinal Point Strategies
Former NYS Public Safety Czar brings a lifetime of service to leading international security consultancy

L. Balboni will serve as head of its Government Solutions practice. Michael previously served as a principal at Navigators Global.

Michael Balboni served five terms in the New York State Senate where he represented the 7th District which is comprised of parts of Nassau County, Long Island. In the Senate he was named Chair of the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs. He stepped down at the end of 2006 when he was appointed New York State Deputy Secretary for Public Safety – a cabinet level position. In this role, Mike was the Senior Homeland Security and Law Enforcement official for the State of New York. The Public Safety Directorate is comprised of thirteen state agencies including the Office of Homeland Security, Division of State Police, Division of Military and Naval Affairs and the State Emergency Management Office. He served as security chair for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, where he assisted and advised on security for the rebuilding of the World Trade Center. He served as the nuclear notification officer in the Governor's office, was appointed as an adviser to President Obama's homeland security transition team and regularly speaks on topics of safety, security and the role of governments.
