Historic Bimini Big Game Club Resort To Host Best Video Competition to Win Shark Cage Wedding

ALICE TOWN, The Bahamas, July 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Saying "I do" within feet of huge, hungry bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas) might not be everyone's idea of a dream wedding, but for those adventurous couples looking to tie the knot on an exotic island destination, the Bimini Big Game Club Resort and Marina has announced a Facebook competition that is mighty tempting.  All couples need to do is to submit a video to the resort's Facebook page http://bit.ly/1n7knsQ, and make their best case as why they should be chosen.

The historic resort, less than 50 miles east of Miami/Fort Lauderdale, has put out a call for video submissions from couples looking to take on the challenge of a wedding ceremony in a shark cage complete with a local dive captain conducting the ceremony. 

The resort in return offers complimentary roundtrip air travel (Fort Lauderdale/Bimini) aboard a seaplane courtesy of Tropic Ocean Airways, four nights in the plush Hemingway Suite and complimentary food and beverages. Captain Devito Bullard, the resort's dive boat captain, will conduct the ceremony in the resort's Bimini Bull Run shark encounter cage, which is attached to the dock located in the Bimini Big Game Club Marina.  According to the resort's Director of Sales and Marketing, Diana Weber, the winner will be announced on September 15^th based on the most "likes" received on the Facebook video posts.  The wedding she said will be scheduled in October with the couple needing to file paperwork two days prior to the wedding ceremony in the Bahamas and they must have passports. 

This famous Island in the Stream where writer Ernest Hemingway battled hungry sharks while trying to land marlin and tuna is home to some 13 species of sharks. According to the Bimini Biological Field Station, the bull shark joins 12 other species of sharks found in the shallow water off Bimini. These species include Great Hammerhead, Lemon, Caribbean Reef, Tiger, Blacktip, Nurse, Blacknose,  Atlantic/Caribbean Sharpnose, Mako, Spiny Dogfish and Bigeye Thresher and Smooth Hound.
