Hillsborough County, Fla., Turns to Verizon Business for 911 Service Upgrade
County Emergency Managers Will Deploy New NICE System to Record Emergency Calls
TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- First-responders in Hillsborough County will be able to better analyze and share information related to emergency events, thanks to a modern 911 system deployed by Verizon Business.
Verizon Business is teaming with NICE Systems to upgrade the county's existing recording system so that emergency calls can be answered and analyzed across 10 emergency communications centers serving nearly 1 million county residents.
New recording solutions are being deployed at the public safety answering points, including the City of Tampa fire and police departments and the Tampa International Airport Police Department, and will be used to capture and reconstruct events involving 911 calls and other emergency communications. Verizon Business, working with NICE, is replacing the county's outdated recording solutions with a more modern platform.
"These new recording solutions offer our agencies a streamlined process for accessing audio and data to rebuild and play back incidents," said Ira Pyles, ENP, 911 manager for Hillsborough County. "The new system will also make it easier for agencies to share information, should there be a need to do so, and will offer us the opportunity to be prepared for next-generation data that we may need to capture and manage in the future."
