HGS Develops Cyber Innovative Engineering Course for Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security
HEATHSVILLE, Va., March 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hickory Ground Solutions, LLC, based in Heathsville, Va., developed a curriculum for a six-month cyber engineering pilot course for the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security.
The course is designed to train those military and civilians who currently work in the fast changing cyber career field. By training cyber space engineers using this innovative methodology, more emphasis is placed on creative thinking, problem solving and analysis rather than just learning new software and technology.
Additionally, Hickory Ground Solutions was asked to assist the DoD by developing a set of tests, a list of skills and attributes of people who would succeed in cyber operations. The course could help identify future cyber engineers who are innovative, highly motivated and are good team members as well as excellent problem solvers.
Dr. Leslye McDade-Morrison, Hickory Ground Solutions' lead instructional designer, developed the course methodology and innovative strategies that makes this course unique.
